
LINC, through funding from ELMA Philanthropies, convened a five-day workshop on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for a vibrant group of therapists and paediatricians from various hospitals in Limpopo in February 2016. Waterberg District hosted the first district-based one-day ASD orientation workshop, based on the Fishbowl approach, on the 21st September 2016. The workshop was organised and hosted by an enthusiastic and driven group of allied workers and medical and health professionals from Mokopane Hospital, with the support of the Waterberg DCST. LINC is proud to be a partner in this amazing endeavour to improve services for children living with ASD in the province. This is the first of many workshops to come. Waterberg has set a brilliant precedence for the remaining four districts in Limpopo. We look forward to attending the Mopani and Capricorn workshops in October 2016 and February 2017 respectively.
